The Catastrophic Enantiodromia, again; and Why "Communism" is the instinctual enemy* of "Conservatism"

Whatever any individual thinks they are voting for, therefore, will count as
much as a vote for what they would be against. Manipulations in sign-use will occur, have occurred, to insure final tallies converge on 50-50. This produces cliff hangers and stiffles 'beat up' feelings. It is possible to do this by manipulating key events, and the emotional language describing them, which people are required to use in collective communication. Like plucking heartstrings on the harp to keep the chord. "We are Americans, being American (by voting)." Wrong; and not just.

It is Reversal; of the sort that began under Reagan. ("Support the Contras", "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter"; illegal war). This is where democracy was destroyed, and a Freudian analysis of its explanation is in the title of his autobiography, "Where's The Rest of Me?". Reagan was "trying to be one of Daddy's tough boys", by opposing communism, whereas as a younger man he had been a mother's 'bleeding heart liberal", even leading a Dean's office sit-in protest for student rights. The psychological meaning of the word "Communism," L. deMause explains -- nearly all token; hardly any text -- is "Father killers": automatic reaction to which, hard-wired into the psyche by development and brain structure, is NO! NO! The 'enemy' of 'conservatives' are always Daddy killers


Believing the apotheosis of anti-democracy to be democracy is the terror of the situation. It expresses what Carl Jung called catastrophic enantiodromia, conversion of a process into its opposite. Psychosemiotically, it is also use of the same term to deny itself: a text-token contradiction. Use of such "doubles" to cause a word applied to something (text)to contradict what it would predicate (token), cannot express anything square with the world; so by a kind of 'rule of pervsersity' it becomes essential tool step in manipulating group-process to 50-50 splits. Pre-emptive predication on text-token contradiction becomes the norm in collective communication.

I propose that this analysis, which stands on its own, connects with snakebrain processing, not just as metaphor or Bible myth -- those too -- but metaphysically. As in: literal control of the processing of group communication by vertebrate nerve nodes ('chakras'; kundilini). As a functional neuro-psychological unit, this evolved program of protoplasm sticks into the base of the skull at the neck, unchanged through millenia. The "dark" side of each 'double' S* content, reversible as opposed delegate positions, is seized upon by this most primitive functional unit, whatever "light" side

...Olberman, with Jonathan Alter, replying to Jon Stewart's charge that MSNBC and Fox News are, as charged here and elsewhere, two sides of the same coin; morally equivalent, differences depend on which side of the fence you standing on, and that comes down to personal preference, like tase of beets.
Horrors! the Leftist's cry. "Phony equation!. We stick with facts; Fox News makes stuff up." And that is largely true. However, what we are seeing here is, first, Stewart lumping the two opposed political sides in a comedic vein, followed, second, by categorical insistence on one side's moral superiority, not in a comedic vein at all. <"Which vein carries the strain that bleeds for you?"> The incompatible opposites Left and Right, related to body movement, are conjoined, struggling against each other. One appeal to fact and morality for justification; the other to religion and nationalism.

This snake brain election will normalize self-contradictory use of language to legitimize illegitimacy.
