Projection Reversal (Alex Jones v. Geraldo Rivera)
NEW YORK - Media activist Alex Jones was arrested by New York Police Department officers while filming a documentary about the sixth anniversary of September 11th and joining the protest against the official version of what happened on 9/11.
According to Infowars sources Jones was singled out by police from the head of a crowd of about 400 9/11 Truth Activists and protesters. He was verbally accosted and forced by the police officers to present identification which he was not carrying at the time.

In another clip , Geraldo states, "I think these demonstrators are all into rest room gay sex". He later physically threatens the protesters, saying that if violence broke out "our Fox News team can take this bunch."

This is a remarkably vivid example of the deep psychoanalytic structure driving right-wing group-think in general. One speaker in Petreus' Senate hearing today used 'leftists' to refer to 'bring them home now' Democrats. It is not just symptomatic, but the twisted center-of-gravity diagnostic of a collective way-of-being.
"Projection" is reading the protester's psyche as if it were his own, on the basis of identification (merger fantasies with those representing self-punishment). "Reversal" is place-swapping the "naughty boy seeking punishment" positions. Though not gay himself, Rivera and Fox news stand in the shadow of "wide-stance Republicanism" (Dennis Miller made a lame attempt to mock out 'wide stance' lefties, too). Innocent enough of that, but (pre-consciously) hearing it latent in their tacit taunts, he mechanically throws it back at them. "It's not me/us; its you/them.". Leaving most in total bewilderment. But Geraldo knows his audience, and they know who sucks. In fact, they suck each other at the collective level, so he was acting as delegate warrior defending the unconscious group fantasy. He'll tell 'em.
